adding an autococker lpr to a sovereign?

I've read that to add a standard autococker lpr to a sovereign you need to rethread the front using a bottoming tap. What is the exact process? Do I have to drill out the existing threads or does a bottoming tap change the threads with nothing else needed?

    Anyone know the size tap?

I've used taps and dies before but kind of a noob to this stuff.

Even better, is there a non destructive way of doing this?

Also, anyone know the threading of the hardline so I can drill and retap my rock to keep it looking pretty factory stock?

When I did it I just threaded a normal lpr right on there no tapping needed. The only challenge was the stock hard line and for that I went the other direction and retapped the 3 way to 10/32 and ran a 90degree Sto fitting off of it and just used standard cocker hose. I will say sometimes the factory lpr can be less than coperative to remove.

Sweet, so no modifications needed. For some reason I thought it was not a standard autococker LPR threading.

I mean it's always possible that it varied between the years?
